Rebecca Graves will share her professional experiences navigating the complex world of “art”!
Rebecca Graves, founder of rGraves&Co., is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. After receiving her bachelor of fine arts in painting, she went to work at the Louisville Ballet Company, and later became a master scenic artist. She went on to earn a master of fine arts degree in sculpture from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she expanded her work to include public art and installations. Her work has been covered by The New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, and the Associated Press. Her clients have included the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City; the Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth 2, and Queen Victoria of Cunard Lines Ltd.; Stuart Weitzman retail stores; the Atlanta Arts Festival; Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York; and the Saginaw-Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan. She also has completed many jobs for private clients throughout the United States and Mexico, and has worked as a mural painter since 1991. Graves is a member of the United Scenic Artists union (local 829) in New York City, where she has lived since 1997, and works as a scenic artist on film and television projects. She specializes in faux bois.
