This piece represents a day of reflection. I used color to demonstrate movement in time through the piece as one sets out in the morning, as one continues through the afternoon, and then settles at night. It’s a melancholy piece. The large unlit street lamp is an expression of that feeling. Sometimes, we find ourselves in a place in which we don’t feel so bright.
On days like this, I like to tune in, acknowledge my feelings, and reflect. I like to do this around nature and architecture. There is something about the water, the trees, the soil that makes me feel grounded. There is something about the visual of buildings touching the sky that, humbly, makes me feel more connected to God on a creative level.
